It's a moderate hike into the basin but very busy, even on the weekdays. Bring more water than you think you need. After about half way up you'll need to hike over into Emerald Lake to get more. The wildflowers in the basin are phenomenal.

Dževad and I did an backpacking overnighter in the Timpanogos Basin so that we could explore. It's a nice place to stay over if you're up to the ascent with a night's worth of gear. Luckily most do this trip as a day hike.
