Day 3 Leg 2 - KREG to T00

This is the 2nd leg of Day 3 in my cross-country flight from Stevensville, MD to Anahuac, Texas. After refueling (both the plane and myself) at Louisiana Regional Airport (KREG) near Gonzales, LA, I continued almost due west, though migrating slightly south to avoid some airspaces around Lake Charles and Beaumont/Port Arthur airports. This area is mostly swamp with lots of water features, industrial sites and refineries. I passed over a couple of wildlife refuges, and spotted flocks of white birds. For most of this leg, the air was very calm. As I approached my final destination -- Chambers County Airport (T00) near Anahuac, Texas -- I could hear my friend Chuck on the radio... he was coming in his plane to provide me with an escort. Wow, I hadn't expected that! When I landed, my wife, brother, a few friends, and many members of the local gyro club were there to greet and congratulate me... I was almost embarrassed with all the attention! It was great to be home!
